Post Description

The successful Volunteer Project Manager/Associate may contribute in various ways, depending on his/her expertise and capacity. His/Her responsibilities may include:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in creating marketing and communication materials and in organizing events for the initiative’s stakeholders that fosters positive user experiences and builds working relationships. 

  • Stakeholder Management: Ensure smooth coordination with the initiative’s different stakeholders. These may include experts/ thought-leaders the team may invite to events.

  • Conceptualization & Facilitation of Action: Actively participate in the team’s different design thinking processes that (1) moves individuals and organizations to make a vow and/or register a beneficiary organization and (2) brainstorms needed solutions for the bottlenecks the team may face.

  • Amplification of Action through Connection: Proactively initiate and engage in outreach campaigns and other community-building activities that replicate or scale actions that meet/ aid to meet the initiative’s objectives.

  • Information Management: Maintain an up-to-date vow database and use this information to monitor and evaluate activities.

For this position, candidates with a variety of skills are welcome apply. No single candidate is expected to possess all listed qualifications; rather, he/she is expected to bring his/her unique set of skills to the team. The team is looking for a volunteer who:

  • Is able to effectively conduct research

  • Is able to promptly come up with blog and social media copies

(Possessing the ability to create post graphics via Canva is a plus)

  • Is able to find connections between different pieces of information and linkages between different developments

  • Is able to work in ambiguous settings, especially in start-up mode

  • Has prior experience volunteering for a nonprofit or community organization

  • Has strong project coordination and/or management skills

  • Has high levels of integrity and is able to work with and respect confidential information of stakeholders

  • Is able to productively work individually and with a team

  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
