Position Description
The volunteer will support communications, digital engagement, and promotional activities across various UPG initiatives and teams.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting social media planning, scheduling, and publishing
- Assisting with campaigns, promotional activities, and community engagement
- Creating and adapting content for social media, websites, newsletters, and community communications
- Supporting coordination between program and communications teams
- Assisting with website updates and digital publishing activities
- Helping monitor engagement and social media performance
- Supporting visual storytelling, posters, graphics, reels, or short-form content creation
- Assisting with participant and stakeholder communications where needed
- Staying updated on UPG activities and identifying relevant stories and highlights to share
Qualified candidates are welcome with a variety of skills. No single candidate is expected to possess all qualifications, as each volunteer brings unique strengths that complement the team.
Requirements & Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in communications, storytelling, social media, marketing, or community engagement
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural remote teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools
- Ability to work with and respect confidential information
- English is required; additional languages are an advantage
Nice to Have
- Experience with Canva, video editing, graphic design, or content creation
- Experience with social media analytics and engagement tracking
- Experience in communications, PR, marketing, non-profit, or community initiatives
- Confidence with live or online engagement activities is an advantage
- Motivated individuals looking to learn and grow through volunteer engagement are encouraged to apply
