Position Description

  1. Collaborate with the President to set and achieve institutional vision, strategy, and implementation

  2. Translate strategy into action: lead and manage the institution’s operations to ensure that they are conducted effectively and efficiently

  3. Design, implement and evaluate business strategies, plans and procedures and systems. And set goals for performance and growth

  4. Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of several Teams

  5. Demonstrate consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communication and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve goals.

  6. Attract, develop, coach and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.

  7. Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.

  8. Strengthen revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing programs.

  9. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including collaborators and partners

  10. Develop periodic, annual, multi-year, and project/grant budgets.

  11. Ensure compliance with international, national and local regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary. Ensure that the institution produces required reports, records and other documentation.

Qualifications

  • Seven to ten years of experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. More experience is an advantage.

  • A Bachelors Degree is required. A Graduate Degree (Masters or Doctorate) is an advantage.

  • Strong experience in managing teams, supporting cross-functional collaboration, developing staff, and setting clear goals.

  • Understanding of – and experience with – key business functions such as HR, Administration, Communications, Tech, Finance and more.

  • Strong understanding of international and/or non-profit organizations: standards, business operations and regulatory requirements

  • A strategic thinker who understands how operations support the mission of the organization.

  • Innovative mindset to find and to implement new, effective solutions

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, including a passion for people

  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills: including strong written and oral communication skills

  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving

  • Proven ability to use financial models, control expenses, while supporting the organisation growth.

  • Prior experience working in a similar role is an advantage

  • Prior experience with community management or community organising is a strong advantage

  • Ability to work in start-up settings; Ability to work alone and in a team

  • Confidante: Be able to work with sensitive material and to keep activities confidential

  • Resilience: in particular, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Location: The role is remote
Dates: The initial duration is 12 months for this role. Extension is possible based on performance.
Remuneration: This role is paid competitively.
