Position Description

The successful candidate may contribute in many ways depending on their skills. Two main areas of work include:

1. Community Development

  • Recruit and engage new Community Members and Champions.
  • Take part in internal reviews to improve processes.
  • Reach out and connect with potential UPG Members and Champions.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to community development.
  • Contribute ideas and help design and run activities that support growth.
  • Support community growth by running campaigns such as “Join UPG”.

2. Community Management

  • Support engagement, retention and fulfilment of current Members and Champions.
  • Take part in process reviews and help strengthen our internal systems.
  • Interact with current Members and Champions and support their activities.
  • Handle administrative tasks and support work related to social media.
  • Ensure visibility of community activities across all platforms.
  • Help plan and execute new ideas to improve community engagement.
  • Mobilize the community to attend events and apply for existing UPG opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

You do not need to have everything. We value different strengths.

  • Experience in community organizing or local community development is an asset.
  • Strong coordination or project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong social media skills are an asset.
  • Ability to speak or write in more languages is an advantage.
  • Able to work in unclear or changing situations.
  • Able to work alone or in a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and productivity tools is an asset.
  • Experience in community mobilization and campaigns is an advantage.
  • Experience in community growth and campaign execution is an advantage.

Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months to 1 year, with possible extension based on performance
Employment rate: Part time or full time
Remuneration: Volunteer
